Travels

If you're going to have to be in Europe in winter, we reckon you should at least have sub-zero maximum temperatures and snowy cityscapes.

With this in mind, we spent a weekend in Stockholm and loved it.  A beautiful city, friendly people and relaxing.

Saturday:
Following our (frozen) noses, we
walked around Stockholm, wandering
the Gamla Stan (old town), along
the shore of Östermalm and onto the
island of Djurgarden.

There we had a wonderful lunch,
explored the mini-Sweden World
called Skansen and then visited
the excellent Vasa Museum

Sunday:
Wandered through the centre of
Östermalm, where in a park we
found the contrasting images of
Ful Lang Gong meditating in the
snow with joyous children
tobogganing next door.

We then explored a stunning park
near the old Stadium, caught the
metro to Södermalm with stunning
panoramic views over the city.
