An intellectual discussion on the captaincy of the Australian Test team is interrupted by two girls. Kate, an Australian, quickly tells us that she hates all Australian Men. Looks are exchanged between the four Australian Men on the table. |
 |
|
Monica, the American, quickly establishes a beachhead on the bench seat next to CPL Mullen and launches an attack on his inside thigh. This is successfully beaten off.
Kate launches a verbal attack on CPL Jackson who initially responds, and then tactically withdraws telling the others that any one who interrupts a good conversation between blokes about cricket is 'rubbish.' Kate makes another attack telling CPL Jackson that no Australians fought in Europe until WWII. CPL Jackson's previous opinion is violently reinforced. |

The girls are
eventually repelled, but we discover that Nathan, a drugged out
American just arrived from Amsterdam has taken their place. His
mental state makes him easy fodder for four Australians who cut
him down mercilessly with their drunken wit and advice regarding
the two girls and water-proofing. |

As the sole survivors in the bar, we are invited by the bar staff to withdraw. We head upstairs to the room. |

For the benefit of the lady across the alley, CPL Jackson and CPL Henderson serenade her with an version of that famous Australian lullaby: Paul Kelly's 'Every F***ing City,' before going to sleep. |

Reluctantly, the group is
roused and showers had in reverse order to the previous night. |

CPL Henderson can't find his wallet and turns the room upside down but no luck. |

Over breakfast, CPL Henderson rings up suffering wife with the news and the request that she cancels the credit cards.
The rest of the party gain great amusement to the answer to the question what time did you lose
it:
"between 3 and 11am." |
